Hey all,

just wanna encourage you all with something i was reminded of we were singing the closing song during the first service,

i mean,something i believe the Lord wants to remind us.

God brought me back to the image to that day at church camp,

Second or third day if im not wrong, when we had to take turns to pray for each other?

(for those who did not go for the church camp, here's a brief.
We were suppose to do cell discussion after this certain sermon, but Ching Yee suggested that we should prayed for each other.)

And yes, God brought me to this certain image,
and as i focus even further.

He wants all of us to be reminded of our cell name - E cube.

And the reasons why we came up with this name,

To Evangelise
Edify
Empower.

Maybe evangelise has not much to do with this case,
more of edify and empower.

He wants us, that in these times,

To support and pray for each other.

Especially when all of us are going through O and N levels,

not forgetting Exams as well,

To stay bonded, and close together.

Strengthen each other in prayer and petition.

He wants to remind us that every single one of us is part of this cell,

and no one is to be left out.

As it is said in Phil 4:6-7

6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which
transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ
Jesus.

Remember in this tough times,
Let us perserve together and run the race (:

Yes, we have Jesus, who is FULLY GOD and FULLY MAN. He is fully man so he can understand fully what we are going through, and fully God so that being without sin, Jesus could die on the cross for all our sins, so the sins of mankind can be fully covered by his holy blood. Hallelujah!

I think Pei Fen is going overseas for 2 weeks so she's not joining us for cell for 2 weeks.

Hey Ecubees!

Here's a point which I would like to re-address again. Our cell's gentle giant :) shared about "prayers which do not seem to work" during our discussion; I mentioned to you that someone in the bible had prayed many days.... didn't seem like anything was happening in the physical realm but in fact something was happening in the spiritual realm!

See, we need to understand that each time we pray, there's a spiritual warfare waging behind the scenes.

Study Daniel 10:1-20, where Daniel prayed many many days till an answer finally came on the 24th day. An angel of the Lord appeared to Daniel and spoke to him:

' Then he (the angel) continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the kings of Persia." ' (v12-13)

Here, Michael refers to the archangel of God (Jude 1:9) who came to the aid of this angel who was held back 21 days by spiritual forces of Persia which opposed God.

So, everyone - myself included - let's not give up on praying persistently!
God's delays are not necessarily His denials!

Hi all my E-cubees,

Since we're already in the month of May, and hence approaching June which is the mid year, I just want to ask each one of you personally and reflectively:

How has the past half-year been for you?
Has it been satisfactory, or were there some areas of your life you wished had been better?

You don't have to answer me of course. :) Rather, i challenge you guys to just carve out a personal time with God, telling him how these past months have meant for you, and ask Him to pour His adundant life into you for the rest of the year.. Some of us have told God that we want to pour our lives out for God.. but first, we must let God Himself pour His life into us! Which means, you must be open to God. Picture yourself trying to pour some water into a jug with the jug lid on. Needless to say whether you'll succeed. See, like the jug, we must be OPEN to receive.

(Sorry ah, imagine the glass as a jug lah.)

So.. are you OPEN or CLOSED?

Hmmm Okay i shall contribute something :D hahaha simple post la.

Okay i don't think many of you know, but every Friday night me and a few guys from church will play basketball, sometimes on Tuesdays or Sundays too.
There will be days where the sky will turn really dark and it'll look like its going to rain, then one of the guys will always message me and say "hey its going to rain. how?"
I'll always reply "Just go" (or something like that la)
And when we do go, surprisingly it never rains. hahaha it may drizzle a little before that but the court is still in playable condition. hahaha yup so i wanna share that, when you pray, you must believe all the way, like i don't pray then wait at home to see if the rain stops. I'll pray and just make my way to the court, believing that God will stop the rain and let us have a fun time :) and God never fails me :)

Anyway, thank God for the weather these whole week(:

and surprisingly, i didn't get scolded on Wednesday (:

because of some stuff,

and i prayed and worried the whole time.

Thank God for loads of stuff that happen this week,

Even though today was quite bad.

But just wanna leave you all with 2 stuff,

One, is that "Deny short term pleasures for long term gain"

so true, isn't it?

we need to deny our current pleasures, and work hard in our studies,

so that we will gain better results in the future!

oh, the second is that,

there was a chapel/devotion story,

i can't exactly rmb,

that i wanna share,

kind of a different version of what i heard,

but same meaning (:

The Miller, His Son, and Their Donkey

"I shall have to sell that donkey of ours," said a miller to his son. "I can not afford to keep him through the winter. I will take him to town this very morning to see if I can find a buyer. You may go with me." In a little while the miller, his son, and the donkey were on their way to town.

They had not gone far when they met some girls going to a party. They were talking and laughing as they went along. One of them said, "Look at that man and boy driving a donkey. One of them surely might ride."

The miller heard what they said, and quickly made his son mount the donkey, while he walked along at its side.

After a while they came to a group of old men who were talking very earnestly. "There," said one, "I was just saying that boys and girls have no respect for the aged. You see it is true in this case. See that boy riding while his old father has to walk."

"Get down, my son," said his father, "and I will ride." So they went on.

They next met some women coming from town. "Why!" they cried, "your poor little boy is nearly tired out. How can you ride and make him walk?" So the miller made his son ride on the donkey behind him.

They were now in town. A man coming down the street called to the miller, "Why do you make your donkey carry such a load? Look at the donkey,He is tired! You can carry him better than he can carry you."

At this the miller and his son got off the donkey. They tied the donkey's legs together, turned him over on his back; and began to carry him.

A crowd soon gathered to see the strange sight. As they were crossing a bridge the donkey became frightened at the hooting of the crowd. He broke loose, fell into the river, and was drowned.

The miller was angry and ashamed. He said, "There! I have tried to please everybody and have only made a fool of myself. After this I shall do as I think best and let people say what they will."

This story is trying to say that many times we depend on people's opinion to shape our identity and our lives.

Wanna share something I've learnt from devotion a few days back.

I've read about Job and I find that what he has gone through is like what we're going through nowadays. So being interested, I went to read about him from the internet.

It's how this goes,

Job was a man of unparalleled and genuine piety. He was also a man of well-deserved prosperity. He was a godly gentleman, extremely wealthy, a fine husband, and a faithful father. In a quick and brutal sweep of back-to-back calamities, Job was reduced to a twisted mass of brokenness and grief. The extraordinary accumulation of disasters that hit him would have been enough to finish off any one of us today.

Job is left bankrupt, homeless, helpless, and childless. He's left standing beside the ten fresh graves of his now-dead children in a windswept valley. His wife is heaving deep sobs of grief as she kneels beside him, having just heard him say, "Whether our God gives to us or takes everything from us, we will follow Him." She leans over and secretly whispers, "Why don't you just curse God and die?"

His misery turns to mystery with God's silence. If the words of his so-called friends are hard to hear, the silence of God becomes downright intolerable. Not until the thirty-eighth chapter of the book does God finally break the silence, however long that took. Even if it were just a few months, try to imagine. You've become the object of your alleged friends' accusations, and the heavens are brass as you plead for answers from the Almighty, who remains mysteriously mute. Nothing comes to you by way of comfort. It's all so unfair; you've done nothing to deserve such anguish.

When we compare what we've gone through with his, it looks like nothing. He had whatever he needed in life. Whatever he had is just gone within a day. Imagine how bad such a day would be... Yet in all this situation, he still remained faithful to God. I want to have this kind of faith. I want to continue to be faithful, continue to pray even when God choose to be slient. I want to praise God in all kind of situation. You?

God is not only God of the big things, but God of the small things too!

So..
On Friday evening, my school friends and I were planning to go out for dinner after CCA. But it was raining and raining and raining cats and dogs... But I muttered a prayer to God to stop the rain, and the rain rlly did stop soon after!
After dinner, we were waiting at the bus-stop and I prayed for my bus to come quickly as well. Guess whattttt? My bus was the very next bus to arrive!

Right so this might seem trivial and all, but it really demonstrates how God cares and will intervene even in the tiny little bitty things in your life. So what makes you think He doesn't care about the bigger stuff? :D
So cast your burdens on Jesus, because He cares for you! Don't take it all upon yourselves (:
